Cybermummy Virgin

It was my first time at a conference such as Cybermummy. Being relatively new to the blogging scene I thought it would be a great place to meet others who were pros at it.

My thoughts......

1: A lot of mummies blog! There were 400+ mummy bloggers at this conference. For many it's a way to stay sane and those who have been doing it for a while have built up quite a community of 'on-line' friends. I never thought I'd be friends with people I’d met on-line (seems a little bit odd) but I have and thanks to @Iamubermummy & @mummysshoes
my Cybermummy experience was even more fun.

2: I thought that you could tell someone’s personality through their writing. In reality you can't. A lot of personalities who I thought would be loud were in fact, quite & shy.  My twitter & blog friends tell me that I on the other hand am a 'louder' personality in real life than my tweets & blog suggests. Oops. Sorry.

3: Never attempt vlogging. Safe to say I really enjoyed @mydaddycooks present however I think I'll hire someone to do the few video clips I need. It is way out of my comfort zone & quite frankly I can't really say I'm that interested in learning how to edit videos etc.

4: Three is the magic number when it comes to number of posts you should be posting a week on your facebook page! An easy rule to remember.

5: People who I thought might be unapproachable were in fact lovely & warm and great to chat to.

6: Sarah brown & Rachel Johnson were fantastic, both were inspirational & left me with much to think about! Great to see my brain can still work (just about) under pressure.

7: The bloggers reading their own posts at the end of the day were fantastic well done to you all. I cried and laughed and felt inspired to write posts that would be as equally moving.

8: A room full of women does not necessarily mean bitch-fest! There was the odd glance up & down but that is normal female behaviour, no doubt checking out shoes (yes mine were high!) and clothing.

9: Finally thank the lord for the name tags. I'm usually not a fan but so many people did not look like their avatars it was a real guessing game at times.

So all in all I had a brilliant day. I met new friends. Had my hair done by the stylist and came home with a lot of treats for my girls!

I'm still trying to find my feet & my place within the blogging world! Sometimes, ok most of the times I wander why I do it and whether anyone is reading or actually cares about my life & what I have to say?

But I persist in the hope that one day it will all come together. Plus I've begun to enjoy it and would like to give it a fair go. So those of you who do follow (thank you friends) no doubt I'll continue to bore you.

Look forward to seeing you all again at Cybermummy 12
